Long Hill Loft

2020 taught us a lot of things, especially those of us who quarantined at home with our families.  One of those lessons- sometimes you just need your own space and some alone time! 

That lesson rang true to my clients in Harding who suddenly found themselves working from home with their three daughters home from college. This was the perfect time to finally turn their barn garage loft area into a dream home office. 

Luckily for me, my clients have amazing taste & had already done most of the hard work when I joined in. They added drywall, new hardwood flooring, a bathroom, an amazing brick accent wall AND the spectacular leather chesterfield sofa. We wanted to go for a smart, sophisticated & traditional look, and add in some industrial accents. “Ralph Lauren meets Restoration Hardware” as the client described.

What makes it even better? It’s a pull out couch for when guests come to stay & was handcrafted in New Jersey!

These chairs were worth the wait! The heather grey fabric and wood arms match perfectly with the space, but the black iron base gives off a hint of industrial modern. The perfect juxtaposition across from the traditional chesterfield sofa.

For the carpeting, we wanted something subtle that still made an impression. We selected this houndstooth rug that has a slight blue pinstripe to it - matches the sofa perfectly! We worked closely with the carpeting company to make sure the rug fit the space perfectly and the stripes went in the right direction.

The space is truly so quiet and peaceful, it's the perfect spot to get work done.

At first glance, this looks like your average desk. But when you look a bit closer, you see the hand carved details in the beautiful mango wood.

Between working from home, having guests, or just relaxing and getting a second alone - I think this space is going to get a lot of use.  It was so great working with these amazing clients and I hope they love it for years to come!
